Two decades building and running logistics across the region — at AMI Worldwide and CEVA Logistics — now working directly for the companies that need it.
East and Southern Africa isn't a single market — it's a web of corridors, each with its own customs rules, transit risks, and hidden costs. Getting it wrong is expensive.
Mombasa or Dar es Salaam? Durban or Beira? The cheaper route on paper is often slower and costlier once delays and transit fees are counted.
Missing permits, wrong HS codes, and incomplete documentation turn a clean shipment into days of demurrage and unplanned charges.
Companies entering the region rarely have a trusted local partner who knows the agents, the borders, and how things actually move.
Foreign businesses setting up import, distribution, or supply chains in East & Southern Africa who need a guide through corridors, customs, and partners.
Producers wanting to reach African markets reliably — with routing, clearing, and cost structures that actually work on the ground.
Established traders bleeding margin to delays, demurrage, and bad routing who want a sharper, more predictable operation.
HGI moves freight and clears customs as a working operator — and packages that same hard-won knowledge into advisory work for companies that need the expertise without the headcount.
Sea, air, and road freight across the region's major corridors, coordinated port to door.
Documentation, classification, and clearance handled so shipments don't stall at the border.
Choosing routes, partners, and modes that balance cost, speed, and reliability.
Market-entry assessments, supply-chain audits, and fractional regional logistics leadership.
Most companies trading in this region can't justify a full-time regional logistics expert — but the cost of not having one shows up in every delayed shipment. These engagements give you that expertise on demand.
A deep-dive for a company entering a specific country or corridor.
A review of an existing operation to find where time and money leak out.
Hands-on help choosing and setting up the right routes and partners.

HGI is led by a director-level operations leader who spent his career building and running logistics across East and Southern Africa. As Operations Director for Africa at AMI Worldwide, Amaury directed operations across 12 countries and led the redesign that made AMI one of the region's most recognised logistics names — the brand many in the trade still know today.
That work continued through AMI's path into CEVA Logistics, where he ran multi-million-dollar operations across three transit hubs for clients including GE, Unilever, and the UN — and into senior regional roles establishing entire country networks from the ground up across Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia and beyond.
HGI is where that experience is now applied directly and personally: a bridge between international companies — in Europe, Asia and the Gulf — and the African markets Amaury has spent two decades learning corridor by corridor.
